Kazakhstan will be represented in boxing by Nazym Kyzaibai (50 kilograms). The 2014 and 2016 World Champion in the weight category up to 48 kilograms, Kyzaibai, fulfilled her dream of competing in the Olympic Games. The tournament in Paris will be her first Olympic competition.

Valentina Khalzova (75 kilograms) will also debut at the Games. Her achievements include the title of World Champion 2016 in the category of up to 69 kilograms, the bronze medal of the World Championship 2022 in the same category and the gold medal of the World Cup 2023 in the category of up to 75 kilograms.

Saken Bibossinov (51 kilograms) is another national team boxer who has participated in the Olympic Games. In 2021, he secured a bronze in Tokyo, winning in the category up to 52 kilograms. He is also the 2021 World Champion, the 2022 World Silver Medalist and the Bronze Medalist of the 2019 and 2021 World Championships.

Judo

In judo, Abiba Abuzhakynova (48 kilograms), the third-ranked in the world, will debut at the Games in Paris. Over the past two years, Abuzhakynova has won bronze at the World Championships in 2022 and 2024.

Experienced Olympic judoka Eldos Smetov (60 kilograms) won silver in the 60-kilogram category in Rio 2016. Five years later, in Tokyo, he won bronze. His collection includes gold at the 2015 World Championships and bronze at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships.

Gymnastics

Milad Karimi is a gymnast specializing in all-around categories. At the 2023 World Cup, he brought the first award to the Kazakhstan national team in 26 years, becoming the bronze medalist in floor exercises. Karimi also competed in the Tokyo Games.

Norah Jeruto, a long-distance runner originally from Kenya, obtained the right to perform for the national team of Kazakhstan in January 2022. The same year, Jeruto brought her team gold at the World Championships, setting a championship record.

Aidos Sultangali (60 kilograms) has twice climbed the world championships podium in Greco-Roman wrestling. Demeu Zhadraev is another wrestler in the category of up to 71 kilograms. He was the silver medalist of the 2017 World Championship in his category. Zhadraev competed at the Tokyo Games in the category of up to 77 kilograms and obtained the right to compete in Paris.

Djokovic has ‘a tremendous respect’ for Brady
Djokovic and Brady are some of the greatest athletes in sports history as the Serb is now considered by many as the greatest players in tennis history, while Brady – who is the only player in NFL history with seven rings – is widely regarded as the greatest player in NFL history.

Djokovic and Brady also have a good relationship as the NFL followed the 2023 French Open final from the Serb’s box. During Djokovic’s three-set win over Casper Ruud in last year’s French Open final, Brady had one of the best seats in the house as he was sitting next to Djokovic’s wife and the Serb’s entire team.

Later Tom was spotted backstage talking to tennis professional Novak, and introducing his three kids to Novak.

In a video shared on X, Tom apologized for them missing his game, revealing that the children had flown up to New York from Miami immediately after school, and they had hoped Novak would have the evening match. Instead he played Ben Shelton in the afternoon.

Novak asked Tom how he was doing, with the Tampa Bay Bucs player sharing that he was “all great”.

Tom retired from the sport in February 2023, after winning seven Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and later the Bucs. In recent months he has been enjoying retirement, including taking Vivi and Jack to see Africa’s breathtaking landscapes for his 46th birthday.

Posting on Instagram, Tom provided glimpses of the vacation he enjoyed with the two which saw them meeting locals and enjoying a safari trip.

He has also given fans a glimpse into his home life with his children, recently revealing that daughter Vivian rules their household after sharing a picture of the new kitten they had welcomed.

India captain Virat Kohli became first player in history to win all three major ICC awards and was also named skipper of both ICC Test and ODI teams of the year on Tuesday.

Kohli won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as cricketer of the year, and was also named Test Player of the Year and ODI Player of the Year after his extraordinary batting form in 2018.

The 30-year-old Kohli scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 with five centuries in 13 matches. He also scored 1,202 runs in 14 ODIs that featured six centuries and came at an astonishing average of 133.55.

“It feels amazing. It’s a reward for all the hard work that you do throughout the calendar year,” Kohli said. “I feel really grateful and very, very happy with the team doing well at the same time myself performing. “Having recognition at the global level from the ICC is something you feel proud of as a cricketer because you understand that there are many players playing the game.”

Kohli had won the Sir Garfield Trophy and ODI Player of the Year awards last year and was also the ODI Player of the Year in 2012.

ICC chief executive David Richardson congratulated Kohli for his impressive form in 2018.

“To be recognised as a true cricketing great you need to be successful at all formats of the game and Virat has become a great ambassador for our sport,” Richardson said.

The Test and ODI teams of the year were picked by the ICC’s voting academy, which is comprised of former cricketers and members of the media. Kohli finished 2018 as the No. 1 batsman in both tests and ODIs, while India ended the year as the top-ranked test team and No. 2 behind England in the ODI rankings.

India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also featured on the all-XI Test team. And Bumrah is the only other player, in addition to Kohli, who made both the test and ODI teams.

Three New Zealand players – captain Kane Williamson, Henry Nicholls and opening batsman Tom Latham – were picked on the Test team. Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lanka), Jason Holder (West Indies), Kagiso Rabada (South Africa), Nathan Lyon (Australia) and Mohammad Abbas (Pakistan) completed the Test squad.

Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma and spinner Kuldeep Yadav made it on the ODI squad. It also included England’s Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Top-ranked bowler Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh) and Ross Taylor (New Zealand) were named in the ODI team.

Australia opening batsman Aaron Finch won the T20I Performance of the Year award for the second time for his record 172 against Zimbabwe in Harare in last July.

Pant was named emerging player of the year, Scotland’s Calum MacLeod got the ICC Associate Player of the Year award, Williamson won the ICC Spirit of Cricket award and Kumar Dharmasena was chosen as Umpire of the Year.

He also has expressed his love and admiration of his children in the media too, particularly since he stepped away from full-time football and gained substantially more time to spend with them despite the divorce.

“Man, your kids teach you so much,” Brady said to People. “You get to learn through new experiences with them and they’re the biggest blessing of my life.”
